Business Tycoons Use Private Aircrafts For Travelling

Friday, November 7th, 2008 |

After September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, threats of terrorist attacks still persist. This has led to rigorous security checks at the airport for each passenger for a regular air flight. As a consequence, because of the stricter measures being taken at each airport, regular passengers are facing long queues, all kinds of security checks and even intimate body search to enable them to board a regular flight. All these procedures are taking more of passengers’ time on ground adding to their total travelling time. Travelling on a Private Aircraft might be a Cessna, Gulfstream, Boeing, Hawker etc means the passenger saves a lot of time and energy for boarding such a flight. Also, it is hassle-free as well as stress-free. Such flights are under your control. Such private aircrafts make it possible to organize business trips immediately. Therefore, business tycoons prefer flying in such aircrafts because of such convenience, comfort and privacy.

Some of the benefits of such private jet hire are described below:

Scheduling of flight is very convenient as the tycoon is the owner of the plane. The plane could be scheduled as per his requirement. The schedule would entirely depend on his wish regarding when and how he wants the flight is to be scheduled. Such a control enables him to organize a flight within a short time. It would all depend on when he wants to leave and when he wants to come back. Time is very important for any businessmen especially for business tycoons. Private aircraft saves a lot of travel time, which is generally spent on usual procedures of a scheduled plain flight including standing in a queue and wait for security checking etc. Time wasted in catching a schedule flight might cost lot money for these business tycoons which they could save by flying in a private aircraft. The best and the most important feature is the high-level security. These business tycoons need not worry about the luggage and do not need to stand on queue. They will get a high-level security, as they do not need to stand up for different security check ups and will be provided a private security which would make them save time and would increase their security for them and their luggage. By using private jets one can choose the airport where he wants to land. He can also decide to land in an area which is less crowded and can save time. Business tycoon can get the maximum amount of security, flexibility, privacy and comfort in a private jet than in any other mode of transport. Because of all these advantages, more and more business tycoons are using private aircrafts for their travelling.

Get Knowledge About Learjet 60 Aircraft

Thursday, October 16th, 2008 |

When it comes to pure climbing power, the Learjet 60 aircraft is hard to beat. This airplane doesn’t just take off–it blasts off.

Its power comes courtesy of a pair of Pratt & Whitney Canada 305As bolted to the back that each crank 4,600 pounds of thrust, giving this 23,500-pound airplane (maximum takeoff weight) one of the highest thrust-to-weight ratios in its class. The manual says this jet will climb 4,500 feet per minute on both engines. That’s not too shabby–and you can climb a whole bunch faster than the book says, although for the sake of passenger comfort, this kind of liftoff is not a good idea. The 60 will ascend to 41,000 feet from sea level in less than 20 minutes. Cracking open a beverage before reaching cruise altitude is just not a good idea–unless you want to wear it.

But an airplane with engines like the Learjet 60’s demands skill and respect in the cockpit. Intelligent power management is critical and landings need to be well planned and well executed.

When they aren’t, look out: the Learjet 60 has the highest accident rate in its class and almost all the accidents happened during landing. According to the National Transportation Safety Board, most of these mishaps resulted from failure of flight crews to read or understand a few key items in the aircraft manual.

One accident occurred after a hydraulic-system failure knocked out everything you need to slow down a jet–flaps, spoilers, brakes, thrust reversers–and the pilots elected to try landing on a 5,400-foot runway, anyway. Another resulted from a flight crew’s attempt to land on a snow- and ice-slicked runway with a tailwind and the anti-skid braking system turned off. Yet another happened after the pilots landed with a ground speed of 210 knots–just a wee bit faster than the normal touchdown speed of around 132 knots–and an unsuspecting deer didn’t get out of the way in time.

But even under ideal circumstances, the airplane for sale has certain characteristics–most notably small brakes and tires–that put a premium on landing skills. The brakes are a bugaboo left over from the aircraft’s predecessor, the Learjet 55 aircraft, whose brakes are even smaller. Notwithstanding their small size, however, the 60’s brakes are not usually an issue when the airplane is flown by the book. That’s thanks to the massive thrust reversers attached to its engines. After landing, they can slow down the airplane real fast.

The Learjet 60 can comfortably operate at high loads out of 5,000-foot-long runways. And its bigger engines give it considerably better performance  than the 55 when operating in hot temperatures and high altitudes.

History Of The Outstanding Cessna Aircraft Models

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008 |

C-34 Airmaster :
The Cessna Airmaster would develop into one of several models (C-34,C-37, C-38, C-145 & C-165) to carry the Airmaster name. This 4 place, high-winged cabin monoplane featured a 7 cylinder, 145 HP Warner radial engine that delivered a max speed of 162 MPH and offered a 550-mile range. The Airmaster series would win the title of “Worlds Most Efficient Airplane” in 1936. 42 C-34’s were built (out of a grand total of 186 for all of the Airmaster series), with a price of $4,985. Considered to be one of the classic aircraft from the golden era of aviation, the Airmaster allowed Cessna Aircraft Company to establish a firm foothold from the depression era, and emerge into a world power of general aviation.

172 Skyhawk :
The Cessna Model 172 Skyhawk, which first appeared in the mid 1950’s, along with it’s stablemate, the 182 - was built to compete with the Piper PA-22 Tri-Pacer, the top selling private plane from 1952 to 1956. The 172 evolved from the Cessna model 170 (tail-dragger) in 1956 in which the tri-cycle landing gear and new empennage design created a line of aircraft for sale that would prove to be the worlds most popular general aviation aircraft to date. Relatively affordable with docile handling characteristics have made this 4-place aircraft an all-time favorite with recreational and business flyers alike. Originally powered by a 145 HP 0-300 Engine (yielding a top speed of about 135 MPH), later versions used up to a 180 HP Lycoming 0-320 engine (yielding about 144 MPH) to carry 4 people.

337 Super Skymaster :
Originally planned as a safe twin engine aircraft (to avoid the asymmetrical drag associated with an engine-out of a conventional twin) the models 336 Skymaster (fixed gear) & 337 Super Skymaster (retractable gear) stand out as one of the most unique products brought to market by Cessna Aircraft Company. Approximately 2,000 Skymasters were built between 1963 - 1983, making it Cessna’s 2nd best selling twin. Utilizing an engine to pull, and another to push (twin engine redundancy - centerline thrust concept) and featuring outstanding visibility from the cockpit, the aircraft found usage by the U. S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam era as a forward Air Control aircraft. The 6 place Skymaster made use of either a 210 or 225 HP Continental engine, yielding a top speed of 183 MPH.

188 AG Husky :
Cessna Aircraft Company developed and marketed several models of crop dusting / aerial spraying versions of the model 188. Originally developed in the mid 1960’s, the model 188 was sold under the names of Ag Wagon, Ag Pickup, Ag Truck, Ag Carryall and Ag Husky. The Ag Husky shown here featured a 310 HP Turbocharged engine and a 280-gallon hopper. Unique to these aircraft were safety enhancements that came in the way of windshield and gear wire-cutter blades to deal with any close-encounters with telephone lines, 4130 chrome-moly steel tube fuselage structure and night operations lights. Approximately 4,000 model 188’s were built.

310 :
With approximately 5,500 aircraft sold since it’s debut in 1954, the Cessna model 310 has earned the distinction of being Cessna’s best selling twin-engine aircraft. The 310 is perhaps best known as the “star” of the 1960’s television show “Sky King” (featuring a 1960 model 310D named Songbird II). Long considered to be one of the best looking aircraft to have been designed, the Cessna 310 aircraft for sale was available between the mid 1950’s until production stopped in the early 1980’s. Originally equipped with 2 Continental 240 HP engines, the last model featured 2, 285 HP Continental engines.

Citation X :
Having made its first flight in December, 1993, the Citation X (Ten) has set numerous records as the fastest production business jet in the world. Flying at Mach 0.92 (about 600 MPH), the only civilian aircraft that is faster is the supersonic Concorde. Powered by two Allison Rolls Royce AE-3007C turbofans (generating about 6,400 pounds of thrust each), the aircraft can accommodate a crew of two and as many as twelve passengers in extreme comfort. The Cessna Citation X aircraft for sale is the flagship of a long series of best-selling business jets whose name Citation is derived from the famous thoroughbred racehorse “Citation”.

The Growing Progress Of Eclipse Aircrafts

Friday, September 12th, 2008 |

Eclipse Aviation is the manufacturer of the world’s first certified very light jet; the Eclipse 500. Eclipse Aviation is in the business of designing, certifying and producing modern, affordable jet aircraft that will revolutionize the transportation market. Eclipse Aviation is applying advanced electronics systems, manufacturing and business practices to produce aircraft that cost less than a third of today’s small jet aircraft, will be significantly safer and easier to operate than those of today, and have the lowest cost of ownership ever achieved in a jet aircraft.

For Eclipse Aviation the goal is to bring the word “personal” into aviation, making it possible for commercial air passengers to move directly between cities on a quick, affordable and convenient basis. The Eclipse 500 jet will also allow pilot owners to enter the world of jet-powered aviation.

The Eclipse 500 received its full FAA certification in September of 2006 and already has a backlog of over 2,000 aircraft. A driving force behind the current success of the Eclipse jet is the advent of the air taxi industry, which provides a cost effective business jet charter service from a convenient community airport on a per seat basis. Start-up air taxi companies such as DayJet have already placed significant orders with Eclipse Aviation.

The progress of the Eclipse 500 has already been a huge boost to much anticipated launch of the very light jets aircraft category. Time will tell whether it will have an even greater affect on our commercial aviation system.

Introduction To Cessna 120/140

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 |

In the years just following the end of World War II, Cessna first began production of two-seat general aviation aircraft with the Cessna 120 and the Cessna 140.

The Cessna 140 is usually powered by an 85 or 90 horsepower (63 or 67 kW) piston engine, and has a metal fuselage and fabric wings with metal control surfaces. The later 140A model had entirely metal wings, most of the aircraft sold featuring a 90 hp Continental engine. Production ended in 1950, and was later succeeded by the Cessna 150, another two-seat trainer. Between the 120 and the 140, Cessna sold 7,000 airplanes in the four years they were in production. The larger Cessna 170 was essentially a resized 140 with a more powerful engine.

The Cessna 120  was a stripped-down version of the 140 produced at the same time, intended for the trainer market; it had the same engine as the 140, but did not have flaps. The cabin “D” side windows and electrical system (radios, lights, battery and starter) were optional.

Cessna 140Common modifications to the Cessna 120 and 140 include “metalized” wings, where the fabric is replaced with sheet aluminum, and the installation of landing gear extenders to reduce the tendency of the aircraft to nose-over on application of heavy braking.

The Cessna 120 and 140 are supported by a number of Aircraft Type Clubs, including the International Cessna 120-140 Association and the Cessna Pilots Association.

Comfortable Charter Flights

Monday, September 1st, 2008 |

Charter flight – hiring an airplane and a pilot for travel to a specific destination - goes all the way back to 1913 when an enterprising pilot started carrying passengers between San Francisco and Oakland (the only other alternative in those days before the Bay Bridge was a slow-moving ferryboat), it was actually the federal government who made the first use of charter flight in the sense of hiring individuals and small companies. The year was 1918, and the purpose was to carry the mail for corporate business and banking interests. The reason was to reduce the float time on checks during which funds were unavailable. By 1925, airmail was being carried on a regular schedule.

Corporate jet travel for executive travel has roots that predate the development of a viable jet engine – all the way back to the 1920’s, in fact when virtually all powered aircraft still used piston engines and propellers. The first private aircraft intended for business use was the 1932 Beech Model 17 Staggerwing. This sleek-looking aircraft epitomized futuristic, art-deco design, with retractable landing wheels and a luxuriously-appointed interior that featured mohair-cushioned seats with leather trim and room for five passengers. This was followed up in 1937 with the Beechcraft aircraft (18 Twin). It was the first aircraft designed especially for business charter flight, and 7,000 were built and sold over the next thirty-two years.

When it came out in 1958, the Gulfstream I considered the finest aircraft for charter fight yet built, and its $1 million dollar price tag did not prevent it from gaining a significant market share. Although later this aircraft and its successor, the Gulfstream II were later retrofitted with jet engines and renamed the Gulfstream 100 and 200 respectively, when it comes to corporate jet travel, the name most people remember is Lear.

The 1964 Lear Jet was the first private jet manufactured and mass-produced for the general civilian market. Today, its descendant, the Lear Jet 60 is one of the most common corporate jets in use.

Other business and corporate jets include the Gulfstream IV-SP, which not only features oak furnishings, leather sofas and a soundproof interior, it is capable of circumnavigating the globe in 37 hours. The Cessna Citation X is capable of carrying 12 passengers in comfort at speeds of nearly 1000 kilometers per hour, making it the fastest production aircraft made.

Along with the increase in comfort and capability have also come steep increases in price and upkeep costs, which is why companies find it more cost-effective to simply chart flights on corporate jets on an as-needed basis. A charter flight is not only more cost-effective, it can also result in significant tax savings for your company as well!

The Advantages Of Hiring A Private Jet

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008 |

Traveling on a private jet means you save time and energy. Its hassle-free and a much more productive and stress-free way to fly. It puts you in control. Private jet charter services have made it very easy for people to organize instant business trips. Especially for business tycoons, jet charter travel is of great importance. There are several advantages of hiring a private jet:

Scheduling
You are the boss here. Your airplane would leave when you decide. The main advantage of hiring private air charter is the freedom of scheduling. You can plan out the entire schedule according to your business needs and fly at any time you want. You can also alter the schedule if required.

Time-Saver
For business community time is money. Wastage of precious time means loss of millions. Normally, traveling by a commercial airline lead to a great wastage of time due to delayed or cancelled flights. On the other hand with private jet charter services you save time reserving tickets, registering, making queues for security, getting the luggage etc. In short, you avoid delays and save a lot of precious time.

Size
Here you are the king. You choose the private air charter service which suits your needs. You can choose from a variety of aircrafts like light jets, midsize jets, super mids, jumbo jets or even helicopters according to your requirements, i.e. seating capacity, speed of travel, etc. Now that’s the luxury you will never get when traveling on commercial aircrafts.

Choose your Airport
With private jets you get the facility of choosing the airport you want to land in. You can decide to land in a less crowed airport, where you can save your precious time in car and ground transportation.

A private jet charter service ensures that its customer service personnel are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to meet client’s demands. It provides corporate, executive and independent travelers with top level security, comfort, privacy and flexibility; which is not available in any other mode of transportation.

Experience Travelling In A Luxury Private Jet

Monday, August 25th, 2008 |

The aviation industry has had a boom for quite some time now. Air travel is growing cheaper and more comfortable by the day. Private jets have made their own contribution to this boom. Private jets offer extremely fast and comfortable travel options, both to business travelers and to those looking for luxury.

Private jets offer a smarter alternative to a fractional ownership option, which has been popular for quite some time. Private jets allow the passengers to relax, or to work during travel. Passengers can have the food of their choice, drink their favorite wine, and get off the airplane as fresh as ever.

Service in private jets is excellent. Most jets have their owners’ favorite chefs cooking the food they like, stocking the alcohol they like, and well trained flight attendants. In addition to this, in private jets one can sit anywhere; fly anywhere, at any time. This is one reason that business travelers prefer private jets. With most businesses going global, the business leaders of today have to travel everyday at the spur of the moment from one part of the globe to another. They cannot afford to wait for a seat to be secured with a commercial airline.

Hassles such as these are eliminated when one has the option of a private jet. It also allows business travelers to hold meetings, spend time with family, and prepare for important business proceedings. Multiple security checks are not necessary, nor are long queues to unnecessarily hold up anybody at the airport.

For the super-rich, commercial aircrafts are a discomfort they can do without. Private jets are the other alternative. Private jets can be decorated any way the owners prefer. The jets can be fitted with all the luxuries required. If one can afford a jet, it offers a lot of value in terms of comfort level and ease of travel. Movie stars, sports players, and celebrities are always hounded by publicity, so private jets can help them avoid all that attention while traveling. Besides, the pressure of social life leaves little time for them. Such travelers can relax in a style that they are used to living in, onboard a private jet.

Private jets can either be bought or rented. The option does not depend much on cost of buying/leasing. Jet planes need hangers and many staff to maintain them while they are on the ground. This is why some people prefer to rent a jet when they think they need it most, and then return it when the need is over. Business travelers in corporate companies usually prefer to buy the private jet, as they have many people at top levels who keep on traveling all through the year. For luxury travelers who take fewer trips, renting is a better option.

Private jets also offer better safety, as they follow all the norms prescribed by the international aviation authorities. Private jets are an adequate means of travel for both business travelers and luxury rich travelers.

From Start to Finish

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 |

When you think of commercial aviation do you think of the design and technology put into the large aircrafts you see taking you from one country to another? If you choose yes, you are correct. Commercial aviation has gone a long way. When you go to an airport and look at these gigantic planes what do you think? How could they build such large planes! Well the answer is experience and technology. Commercial aircrafts have started many years ago. Though the aircrafts were commercial they are not necessary airlines. Most of which being private companies.

In August of 1910 was the first civilian commercial flight. It was an experimental flight from Blackpool. Another attempt in 1911 had the first scheduled air mail service flying between London and Windsor flying a Farman biplane, and a Bleriot monoplane. This only had lasted 3 weeks. No further attempts at civilian commercial aviation occurred before the First World War in 1914. Through the end of the war in 1917, The Royal Flying Corps flew across the channel for VIP’s and mail using two De Havilland DH.4’s, becoming the first actual airplane for airlines.

The Jet Age had finally come. The 1950’s is a major breakthrough in commercial aviation, the first turboprop airliner and the very first jet airliner had aroused, the De Havilland Comet 1. Though the Jet Age had come, many airliners had not changed their propeller planes in exchange of jet planes. The Jet Age had come to a very bad start. Four of the De Havilland Comet 1?s had been destroyed, two of which landing, one in a thunderstorm, and one breaking apart taking off. After that incident, the Comet 1 was permanently grounded. That year also carried on Boeings 707, Douglas? DC8, and Tupelovs 104. October of 1958, is the first jet service across the North Atlantic by the Comet 4.
