Antique trucks since long have interested American inhabitants. It has become their favorite pastime. Collecting these trucks is not only a hobby but it is a passion for some. Special groups, clubs and museums have been created to showcase the collected automobiles.
Older trucks were used largely in agriculture. They belonged to the 20th century. The oldest and the most original truck was the Mack truck which was owned by John Mack. They were introduced during the 1800s and since then have seen their expansion to buses, dump trucks, semis and other 18 wheeler vehicles.
The popular brands include Chevy, Dodge, and Ford out of which the Dodge truck is a favorite one. The value and the cost of the truck depend upon its rarity and its present condition. The price ranges from anything few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. Many museums and magazines have been designed to house these antique Dodge trucks.
The oldest Dodge truck model was the Dodge Model 30 which as built in the year 1914 by the dodge brothers company. It was a 4 cylinder truck with a body made entirely of steel. The features of this antique truck were 12 volt electrical system and sliding gear transmission. The other Dodge model was model T which had an antique planetary pattern but it was phased out of market very soon by the year 1927. During the years of introduction of the company only light duty trucks were manufactured but later during the 1930s and 1940s the medium and heavy duty trucks were also introduced.
During late 1930s, the Dodge Company introduced the 14 cylinder trucks which proved to be major breakthrough for the company. The company also introduced newer and more improved versions of trucks during the year 1939. But due to the Second World War the company was shut down. Later in the years from 1945 to 1949 a number of 6 cylinder trucks came into being which were named the ‘Power Wagon’.
Antique dodge trucks can be bought from auctions, trade shows, trade magazines or even web site biddings. An American truck Historical Society has been formed specially which deals with the buying and selling of antique trucks. They even have memberships and newsletters to keep the interested ones updated about antique dodge trucks. An antique truck museum can be found in almost all states of USA.
There are a number of antique dodge trucks to choose from. They include Dodge Model 30, Dodge Model T, Series 116 and many more. Even today some of these trucks are on display and even for sale. Interested people can participate in auctions and biddings to own one of the antique Dodge trucks. These trucks are extremely popular and are a symbol of prestige. Hence more and more people have opted for buying these antique Dodge trucks. Even though the Dodge trucks gained more popularity after the Second World War, even today there are many people who want to add these vintage automobiles to their collection.

Workers in the construction industry do not comprise a very big percentage of the total number of United States workforce. However, concerning worker injury and fatality rates, the construction industry sector has one of the highest percentages of such among all other industry sector in the country.
The basic causes of almost all construction accidents are fairly due to various heavy equipments used, work methods and site conditions. Here are some of the noted cases about construction accidents caused by equipments used:
- unsafe equipment
- improper installation of equipment parts and components
- inadequate maintenance of equipment
- misuse of equipment
- failure to use or misuse of safety equipments or gadgets
- workers’ lack of proper training in using equipments
Meanwhile, accidents occurring because of improper work method and unsafe work site condition may range from failure to install proper warnings and signs to failure in clearing or cleaning up a work area.
Many problems can be encountered involving ladders, scaffolds, areas of excavation, use of heavy equipments like bulldozers, cranes, backhoe, loaders, excavators etc. There are also severe incidents involving burns, electrocution, explosions and even poisoning.
It is a fact that some construction sites have poor attitude regarding safety and security that leads to many injuries and even fatalities.
First, regarding the federal government’s responsibility, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration or OSHA is the agency in charge of enforcing the federal laws concerning the safety, security and health-friendliness in every workplace.
It works like this, the OSHA releases regulations based on the federal laws. Then, the head contractor of a construction site has the responsibility to take note of the OSHA regulations applicable to his or her work site. He or she will then impose measures and guidelines that will make sure that the entire site is safe and secure according to the regulations of OSHA.
Prime contractors have the main responsibility for ensuring compliance since they have the most influence regarding safety and security issues. They are the ones who supervise and coordinate the operation in the construction site and usually provide the equipment needed by the subcontractors and employees.
In cases when the head contractor delegates his responsibility to a subcontractor, then the responsibility for going over the safety rules and regulations in compliance with the OSHA rules falls into the subcontractor’s obligation. However, both the subcontractor and the head contractor still share the responsibility.
Owners and manufacturers of heavy equipment and the manufacturers of the equipment’s faulty component that caused the accident may both be charged with personal injury cases like product liability. Meanwhile, the contractor or subcontractor can also be charged with negligence in case they have been lax on imposing a safety guideline that resulted to injuries.
However, to get claims without having to file a lawsuit, the Worker’s Compensation Laws of a state can cover an employee who has sustained injuries or illness from a construction accident. The employee does not have to prove any one’s liability for the injuries and can still get monetary payment for damages. Filing for a lawsuit can also be helpful in getting to the bottom of a certain accident and learning lessons from it so that such accident do not happen again.

Construction is a very basic and fundamental aspect of modernity. It is a very important aspect of industrialization and urbanism. Building construction is the process of adding structure to real property, presenting a reference point of the economic progress of the nation. Developing nations have less skillfully constructed buildings than first world countries. As it is already known that the proficiency, expertise and dexterity of a construction is the reference point of the economical and industrial advancement of the nation, it should also be worthwhile in noting that this era of industrialization is only possible after achieving a very advanced agricultural system.
Proficient construction of a building, a playground, a park, a stadium, an apartment, a factory or even a mall is dependant on the mode of its construction, the expert theoretical aspects of engineering, and architectural knowledge. But theory and knowledge can only be fulfilled through the engineering and construction equipment without which none of the criterion of sound construction is possible. Therefore it is quite prominent that the dream that is weaved by an engineer and an architect through their rational formulae and designing skills can only be shaped to reality through equally good and deft construction equipment.
Construction projects depend directly on the construction equipments like dozer, excavators, backhoes, loaders, forklifts etc. The more advanced the equipment, the greater the possibility of yielding a good result in the whole process. Therefore the factories and companies who produce these construction equipments are facing a great deal of responsibility not only in completing of the construction projects, but is also responsibility for the progress and advancement of urban and industrial life, the most important aspect of the modern urbanity and economic benefit.

Japanese automakers have been known for their reliable vehicles which have become the favorite of most consumers. This can be clearly seen in the United States auto market where market share of Japanese automakers continue to increase while the Big Three’s decline. This trend is not only seen in the United States though as according to J.D. Power and Associates, Honda and Toyota dominated the 2007 South Africa Customer Satisfaction Index.
According to The Auto Channel’s report, the two Japanese automakers received top ranks more than any other automaker. Luxurious Cars like Honda, the Civic, CR-V, FR-V, and the Jazz topped their respective segments. For Toyota, the Avensis, Hilux, the Land Cruiser Prado and the Tazz received the highest rating in their classes. The Customer Satisfaction Index is a study conducted by J.D. Power and Associates to gauge the level of satisfaction of customers regarding the smart cars and other vehicles that they have purchased.
According to The Auto Channel, J.D. Power and Associates, the study focuses on the first 10 to 21 months of ownership. Four factors covering 77 attributes are taken into consideration to gauge the satisfaction of customers. Of the four factors, the highest weight was given to the quality and reliability of vehicles which is given a weight of 32 percent. Aesthetics is second with a weight of 29 percent. Satisfaction of customers is also based on their experiences on the dealership which is given 19 percent. Last but not least is the cost of ownership which corresponds to 20 percent.
Brian Walters, the vice president of J.D. Power and Associates’ Europe, Middle East, and Africa Operations, said that Honda and Toyota are showing their dedication to building quality vehicles. Toyota and Honda car models continue their strong performance in satisfying customers in South Africa.”
“In both 2006 and 2007, four Toyota models ranked highest in their respective segments, while Honda has led in nameplate rankings in both years. These results are a testament to the commitment to high quality that both brands demonstrate. In addition, Mercedes-Benz maintains its ranking in the top five for a second consecutive year and improves in an impressive manner since 2006,” he expressed.
“The consistent improvement in overall satisfaction in the South Africa market is good news for consumers, franchised dealers and manufacturers”. However, there is still significant room for improvement. While customers seem to be more satisfied with vehicle quality and reliability as well as vehicle appeal, service satisfaction and ownership cost satisfaction levels are not on par. Honda is also the manufacturer of Acura vehicles and auto parts such as Acura cargo liners.

Pickup truck haulers are the more sturdy, practical alternative to sport utility vehicles, and many people are now making the switch. They are certainly a growing market, but a number of obstacles stand in the way of sales. Rising gas prices and environmental pressure influence many people ’s decisions of whether or not to buy, as well as the current dominance of sport utility vehicles on the market.
Pickup truck haulers have a variety of uses, and in fact the phrase can mean a number of things. The hauler can be separate, like a utility trailer, or even an add-on at the back to hold motorbikes. Mostly, though, pickup truck haulers are elongated pickups, designed to carry much larger items and cope with a heavier workload. Apart from motorbikes, jet skis, powered parachutes, canoes, snowmobiles, rafts, and balloons can be transported to their destinations, and they are frequently used as mobile skips and organic waste disposal units. They are getting larger and more versatile by the year, and are so reaching broader markets and appealing to a wider range of users.
The humble pickup truck has been around since 1925, when Henry Ford introduced the “Ford Model T Runabout with Pickup Body”. Selling at $281, they quickly established a new market in motor vehicles, which was seized upon by the general public. Farmers found them particularly useful, but during the Great Depression banks would not lend money for luxuries such as cars, but they would for utilitarian vehicles such as pickups and mack trucks. The larger the vehicle, the more fuel it consumes, and the greater the effect on the environment. sport utility vehicles have received widespread criticism over the last few years from environmental pressure groups, and rising gas prices have shaken the market considerably. Polls in the summer of 2006 suggested that most people wanted to move away from utility vehicles and into the smaller car or hybrid sector. Nonetheless, the opposite appears to be happening, with sales of utility vehicles rising while car sales fall. Pickup truck haulers are definitely at the higher-consumption end of the market, but they fill a niche that cannot be otherwise filled by cars or smaller vehicles. If you need to move large items, then you need a large vehicle.
Pickup truck haulers have a large role in the utilitarian market today, and will no doubt continue to do so in the future. The main criticism of sport utility vehicles is that they are are very often used by those who don’t actually need them, such as couples or small families. So the question to ask yourself is: do I really need a pickup truck hauler? One thing is for certain, though: pickup truck haulers are here to stay, and the time is right for them to overtake the competition and move into the fast lane.
